Starting at 5 p.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2026, the City of Houston will open 12 warming centers throughout the city to offer shelter and assistance to those in need. These centers will operate continuously, 24/7, until further notice.
Visitors to the warming centers are permitted to keep their belongings with them during their stay. The centers will be staffed by health and safety professionals and equipped with essential supplies.
For those needing transportation, calling 3-1-1 will connect them with Z-Trip services, which can provide rides to these open warming centers.
